Abbie is a printmaker and book artist with a love of all things paper. She became an artist as a second career, after raising her children and practicing real estate and construction law in the Seattle area. She began taking printmaking classes at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle a number of years ago and became completely entranced/obsessed with the variety of printmaking process and the element of surprise and serendipity in the work. 

Abbie's work is deeply place based and much of her imagery is focused on exploring the soul of the Seattle area and the natural world of the Pacific NW. Abbie's imagery often references the industrial heart of the Duwamish River in Seattle as well as her love of the Pacific NW landscape, in all its variability. 

Abbie was a member of Columbia City Gallery for 8 years, and has shown her work in numerous group and solo shows in Washington state and elsewhere. Her prints and books are in public and private collections. She and her husband have lived on Mercer Island for many years. Abbie is a member of MIVAL, Seattle Print Arts and Puget Sound Book Artists. 

All of the prints in the October Art Walk show are original and hand pulled and some of the pieces include more than one type of printmaking as well as cyanotype. Framed and unframed prints will be available for sale.
